Queens Marriage Records Search

In New York City, marriage records are maintained by two city agencies. The Office of the City Clerk issues marriage licenses and conducts civil marriage ceremonies for all five boroughs, including Queens. After the marriage is registered, the marriage certificate is submitted to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), which maintains these records and issues certified copies.

The collection of records includes:

  • Marriage licenses issued by the City Clerk
  • Marriage certificates filed after the ceremony
  • Historical marriage records registered within New York City

To obtain a marriage license, both applicants must appear in person at the City Clerk's office. Marriage records for marriages conducted in Queens are centrally maintained through DOHMH.
